Appreciating the Classics: Glenn Beck's Coma Hot Chocolate

It’s been over five years that we’ve been blogging here at Cuz We Said So, and I realized it’s been nearly that long since I posted Glenn Beck’s recipe for Coma Hot Chocolate.  Finding it recently in the archives, I realized it is once again time:

Glenn's Coma Hot Chocolate:

5 pints of LIGHT CREAM or 1/2 & 1/2.
12 Hershey candy bars.

Slowly heat cream on stove, break candy bars in small pieces and slowly add to warm cream. Stir until melted candy is fully mixed. Serve ASAP and try not to go into a coma.

WARNING: DO NOT EAT WITH TURKEY OR YOU MAY NEVER WAKE UP.

I think I’ll be mixing some up this holiday season…

Kevin Rose at Samovar Tea Lounge

in San Francisco via Qik.  Check out the tea he’s drinking: there’s 8 kilograms of it in all the world.

Now I want to check this place out.

One Vivanno, Two Vivanno, Three Vivanno, Four...

A friend mentioned earlier today that he had tried a Vivanno, Starbucks’ latest beverage creation.  He wasn't that impressed, but I thought I should give the company the benefit of the doubt, so I just had one of my own.

It’s a smoothie.  I had the chocolate banana flavor, which according to the Starbucks website is “…a whole banana blended with our proprietary Protein & Fiber Powder, 2% milk, mocha sauce and ice.”  Not bad; pleasant enough... but at $4 for a 16 oz, predictably overpriced.  Still, that’s the norm in the smoothy space—Jamba Juice isn’t cheap either.

Starbucks Closure List

Today’s a bad day for coffee lovers and many Starbucks employees; the company has announced the complete list of 600 stores it plans to close in the next year.  The stores near my house are not on the list, but both of the ones I used to frequent when I worked in Baton Rouge are.
